Brooke came to me at the end of 2019 wanting help developing herself as a personal brand. An entrepreneur at heart, Brooke has started numerous businesses in additional to authoring books, and she understands the power of social media in connecting with existing and potential audiences.
We began by working together to develop some basic branding (logos, colors, and fonts) and then got to work on creating a social media strategy, using what we now call “The Magnolia Method.”
We began implementing her strategy in Q1 2020. Aaaaaand then came March 2020, and all of the craziness and unknowns that came with it.
We shifted Brooke’s strategy slightly and began implementing more IG Lives. She felt it was important to communicate that we were physically distancing, *not* socially distancing. If anything, people were spending more time on social media because of quarantines and lockdowns. She went live weekly with various experts to chat all things: religion, social injustice, systemic racism, business, trauma… topics that many people were experiencing in light of all that was happening in the world. The great thing about these lives is that they were relevant topics, so we saw great reach through these.
But then it became apparent this pandemic was going to stick around a lot longer than a 2-week quarantine. Once again, we decided to slightly shift her strategy — partly because we wanted something that would be sustainable and continue to speak to her ideal audience (Would people tire of all of this pandemic talk? How can we continue to reach and encourage people through this “new normal”? Etc.), and partly because Brooke was getting ready to release a 3-part webinar series and a 66-day mentorship program.
We made sure this updated strategy included a mix of all of the above, keeping true to The Magnolia Method approach to social media. Goals for Brooke’s social media accounts included:
Despite the mayhem of 2020, we saw some great results and growth for Brooke’s accounts:
